Chye Seng Huat Hardware is located in Jalan Besar 150 Tyrwhitt Road.
This project aims to study the site and the exisiting surrounding environment to come up with a local craft and reinvented the site to become a craft center catering to the master craftsman and apprentice,
The new innovation of the site design aiming to not exceed 500sqm. The existing courtyard spaces can be design and the envolope of the shophouse need to be retained.
Wood resources are precious in Singapore as the majority of the woods are imported from overseas. However, plenty of wood resources are found to be discarded around Chye Seng Huat Hardware. Hence, it is imperative to consider the methods to repurpose and maximise the value of these discarded woods.
